What can we do to stop the rise of fascism?

Unfortunately this sick racist thuggish form of government didnt die off with Franco and appears to be on the rise in Europe and no doubt across other parts of the world. What can normal people who dont wish to live under Hitler esque dictatorships do to stop these filth?
